Are you used to using the Edit menu to copy, cut and paste?  Did you know you can also use your right mouse button to give you a context-sensitive menu that may include copy, cut and paste?  And there's one more:  keyboard shortcuts.  Using the a combination of keys with the Control key will give you a fast way to a lot of functionality like:  ctrl-c = Copy; ctrl-x = Cut and ctrl-v = Paste.  And by the way if you'd like to select all: ctrl-a.  Give it a try!
