The central purpose of Driver and Traffic Safety Science is to develop a safe, efficient, and courteous roadway user who understands the essential components of the highway transportation system. The acquisition of appropriate knowledge, proper habits, and skills assist in developing sound personal attitudes. The required classroom course develops an understanding of the inter-relationship of the driver, vehicle, and environment in traffic safety, and how to live and drive safely in this relationship.
