Mathematics offers all students preparation in the skills necessary for competence in mathematics, as well as preparation for further training.  All courses aim to increase the understanding of basic concepts, to broaden the knowledge of our number system, and to apply this mathematics. Experience with quantitative reasoning, study of the techniques of critical thinking and knowledge of the contributions mathematics has made and is making in our society are emphasized in upper level mathematics courses.
