Student Council

The Student Council is Otter Valley’s representative body to the community. It is responsible for assemblies, pep rallies, the Homecoming Dance and Winter Ball, and Spring Fling. Class officers are expected to participate, but membership is open to all interested students. Meetings are held TBA  in Rm.309. Contact Ms. Callahan for further information. Echoes from the Valley

Echoes is a Student Literary Magazine that is published annually. It is a compilation of student literary and creative work. Poetry, art, and stories are all combined to create Echoes. New England Young Writers’ Conference

New England Young Writers’Conference is a wonderful, unique opportunity for students from Otter Valley to join with Middlebury High School, Mount Abe, Vergennes & Middlebury College as a host school that helps coordinate this conference. For four glorious days each May students from the four host schools and schools throughout the country convene at the Middlebury College Campus in Ripton, VT to immerse themselves in a culture that fosters the pursuit of excellence in the writing process.Contact Mr. Praamsma (email: dpraamsma@rnesu.org, phone: ext. 2623) for more information.

Yearbook

The Yearbook is always looking for photos, people to take them, and people to work on the book. We welcome students in grades 7-12. Contact Ms King (email: lmking@rnesu.org, phone: ext. 2621).

Otter Valley Raft Race

This annual event is a fun and creative opportunity for students to try something completely different. Students build their own rafts with friends or family. Students then race down Otter Creek on the Sunday of Homecoming weekend. 5th-12th grade students are welcome to participate. Otter Alliance

Otter Alliance meets in the library after school and will held there 2:35-3:30 on Wednesdays. The purpose of the Otter Alliance is to foster a positive, respectful, safe, and welcoming school climate for ALL students, faculty, and staff. We work to make OV a place of support and a team of upstanders.
