Emergency Operations Plan
The Rutland Northeast Supervisory Union continually works to increase and improve security measures. A Crisis Management Plan is in place that provides school staff with responses for crisis situations. RNESU has adopted an options-based response using a Standard Response Protocol as suggested by the Vermont School Safety Center. The Standard Response Protocol provides response guidance for any given situation, not on individual scenarios, and uses the following language: Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate and Shelter. Should an emergency occur that requires dismissal of students, Apptegy, an automated messaging system, will be used to notify parents of how to pick up their students.
