Rutland Northeast Special Education Parent Advisory Council

WHO WE ARE:

SEPAC is a group of parents and caregivers of children with disabilities who work in partnership with school leaders to improve outcomes for all students receiving special education services. Newly formed in the Fall of 2025, SEPAC will transition from an administrator-led group into a parent-led body over the course of the school year.

WHAT WE DO:

  • Advisory: Provide feedback to school and district leaders about special education programs, policies, and services.

  • Support: Connect families with information, resources, and one another.

  • Partnership: Strengthen TRUST and collaboration between families, educators, and administrators.

  • Communication: Create a clear channel for sharing family perspectives and district updates.

WHY WE DO IT:

  • Build stronger family-school partnerships.

  • Provide a structured way for families to share ideas and concerns.

  • Help the district improve services and outcomes for students with disabilities.

  • Encourage collaboration instead of conflict.

HOW TO JOIN US:

Membership is open to all parents/caregivers of students with disabilities, and interested community members.
