Our Community Mural Project is underway! This past Wednesday Juniper Creative Arts spent time with our student council brainstorming ideas for the mural (see pictures). Brainstorming for a big project like this is not easy work and student council did a fantastic job sharing and representing not only their ideas but the ideas of their classmates and the school community as well. Beginning next week Juniper Creative Arts will visit every K-6 classroom during their normal art time. At that time students will be painting and creating work that will become part of the mural. See the attached flier to learn about two after school community mural events that are open to the public. Hopefully we will see you at one of these events!

In other art news the 6th Graders just finished their first round of IA Exploratories. The pottery group created all kinds of amazing art. We focused mainly on the slab hand building method and created bowls, boxes, and soap dishes. This group did a great job working hard, staying focused, and supporting each other. They created work that will, hopefully, last for a long time. The Choice-Based Art group focused their work on creating a piece for the upcoming BIG Art show (May 13th). Choosing an idea, setting goals based on that idea, and persevering through unexpected challenges in the process are all things that this group did well. The awesome projects they finished are evidence of this. Check out the pictures of work from both groups.

The Boys & Girls Summer Program at Neshobe still has space available. Applications for the Summer Program can be found at your child's school or by emailing Heather Best at hbest@rnesu.org.

For those families that have already signed their child(ren) up for the Summer Program, you should have gotten a confirmation message through Procare. If you have enrolled your child but have not received a notification to sign up for Procare or did not receive the confirmation message sent on Thursday, April 2nd, please reach out to Heather Best at hbest@rnesu.org.

Dear Neshobe Families and Caregivers,

RNESU is excited to offer summer programming for eligible students this July. Summit the Summer: Summer Learning Academy is a four-week program designed to support student growth in a fun, engaging, and supportive environment.

The program will run Monday through Friday, from 8:00 to 11:00, beginning Monday, July 6, 2026, and ending Friday, July 31, 2026. Programming will take place at both Lothrop Elementary School and Neshobe School.

We will be coordinating with local summer day camps through Pittsford Recreation (Pittsford) and the Boys & Girls Club (Brandon) to help ensure a smooth transition for students participating in both Summit the Summer and afternoon camp opportunities.

Our goal during these four weeks is to help students strengthen essential academic skills, build confidence, and remain engaged in learning through a combination of hands-on activities and targeted academic support.

Eligible students will receive additional information and registration materials through their classroom teachers.
