New Families to the Rutland Northeast Supervisory Union - Welcome!
If your child has never attended a school within the Rutland Northeast Supervisory Union, the information below will assist you in the online process of registering your child(ren) for school.
Preschool Registration
Parents who wish to enroll a child in a pre-Kindergarten program should register the student in the school located in the town they live. RNESU currently has a prekindergarten region eligible for subsidy for 10 hours of pre-Kindergarten by a qualified provider within that region. Currently that includes programs at Neshobe, Whiting, Caverly (Lothrop) and Barstow schools and Brandon Parent Child Center. To receive the pre-Kindergarten subsidy, enrollment within the approved region is necessary. Waivers to this will be considered if the region has reached capacity. For more information on the preK region, go to this web page or ask your school. https://www.rnesu.org/page/universal-pre-kindergarten
On July 1, priority registration decisions occur at each preschool site. To be placed in a program, children must be 3 by September first. Placement in all programs will ultimately be based on capacity. Due to licensing regulations, each building has a limited number of slots. We do our best to meet the needs of all families living within the RNESU boundaries. The following criteria will be applied as well:
a. RNESU residency (non-resident students will be considered after August 1)
b. Essential Early Education student placements (3 & 4 year old students identified with special needs)
c. Siblings in the school
d. Proximity to the school
After July 1, requests will be considered on a 1st come, 1st served basis, with periodic consideration periods during the summer.
NOTE: Placement to a Pre-K program at an RNESU school does not automatically provide your student a Kindergarten placement in that same school. Only in circumstances pre-approved by the Superintendent are students allowed to attend a school that does not serve the town of residence of the student.
If at any time you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the individual school at the numbers below or RNESU Central Office at (802) 247-5757 for assistance.
